A insight into the Humans of New York

Updated: Apr 14, 2021
The photography that forms the Humans of New York project has an extensive amount of information and storytelling format that is able to share stories from different countries and locations in the US. ‘Invisible wounds’ is a series that encompasses veterans from Vietnam and America and looks at the effects of war and America’s involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan...

There are many elements to the documentary style of photography that are presented throughout the website. I would like to use this style of storytelling and visual imagery that is able to showcase an intimate photograph of character and life experience.
Their presentation on the work that showcases the images of the humans of New York have used a gallery approach with 3 photographs to give a greater insight into each character...

This is a great way of showing a better insight into the people's stories and background behind the main source image. Displaying images as a set would be something I’d like to look at using in my work as the final presentation of my documentary photo bio project.
